· Adapted an existing web application allowing users to create and send banner greetings. Larry streamlined the original written code down from a 3" stack of paper to only ¼" while adding functionality. New coding reduced the time required to add a new banner from 15 minutes to less than one minute, and eliminated glitches that slowed the application down when 2,000 or more people accessed the site. Larry's re-write and improvements were done for 1/4th the price paid for the original site.

CITY PLANNING/INFRASTRUCTURE

· Programmed time card, project expense and employee tracking systems.

· First to develop a temporal mapping system used by numerous cities and utility companies in California and New Mexico. Software creates advanced routines for mapping entire cities and their infrastructure. Detailed maps can display current property lines and improvements on a year by year basis.

CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

· Developed an application that automatically created a list of time and materials needed to complete a job based upon drawings. This saved hundreds of hours per year and also eliminated errors and omissions when coming up with quantities for estimates.

· Created an application for building estimates for a construction company that made it easier for them to quickly come up with estimates and material lists for jobs. This application was written in several languages over the years as the company expanded and went from running on radio shack TSR-80 "computers" to running on PC's.

EDUCATION

· Taught hands-on classes. Real-Life curriculum. Taught students how to use different computer programs including spreadsheets, word processors and database programs. Students brought real-life problems to class and then developed software on-the-spot to do exactly what they wanted to do. The classes were a huge success for four years.

· Created databases for several real estate companies that track properties for sale.

· Developed comprehensive intranets for companies to track sales and all related documents plus keep everyone up to date on news items and meetings.

· Networked 3 satellite offices so they could share information over modems and keep all their files up to date without having to snail mail or drive data between offices. Also set up routines that tracked all sales and agent commissions.

· Lead programmer for Smart Charts, an award-winning financial software program - marketed nationally. This sales tool allows an agent to make personalized quick-reference loan comparison charts that instantly answer all buyers' financial questions. Useful for agents, Brokers, and lenders. Product won "Best New Product of the Year" second place, at the National Association of Realtors (NAR) annual trade exposition in Las Vegas--20,000 attendees and more than 300 vendors. Competition included CityCorp, General Electric, Metromedia, Texas Instruments and Zenith. Smart Charts was one of only a few software programs, out of thousands of programs available, that was recommended by the CRB (National Real Estate Brokerage Managers Council.)

UTILITY COMPANIES

· Created a meter reading and billing application for a small water company with 10,000 clients.

· Designed software that handled inventory and location of materials for a geothermal plant. This included costing routines which tracked pipe cost from time of purchase to time of use and any lifetime pipe modifications.
